Hi everyone, here's our second newsletter,
in which we want to give you a brief report of the things which have been keeping us busy
since our
first newsletter from August.
R A D I O & TV:
The 29th of October we headed to Hilversum
to play live for "Country Time" national radio KRO. We invited "Tom van
Vliet" to play with us.
He's a jazz/swing accordion player with more then 50 years of experience. When playing for
the US-troops in Germany in the late 40's,
he played with almost every act that came over from the US, including Hank Williams!
At the cinema Calypso in Rotterdam the
Ranch Girls & Ragtime Wranglers played live for the "American Election
Kitchen" the 8th of November. We
have had weird time-schedules and unusual dates before, but we believe we never played
this early: 6:00 A.M show time! NOS national TV
broadcasted parts of this breakfast.
We played for national radio NCRV last
Saturday on radio 2. Miss Mary Ann sings "There'll Be Some Changes Made" from
her solo album, followed
by an interview and 6 songs together with fellow Ranch Girl Mary Lou and the Ragtime
Wranglers.
R E C O R D I N G:
In between our live-appearances we are
recording our new album. We have a lot of fun in the studio and are hoping some of this
can be heard on
the recordings. The new CD is getting some shape now and we are very excited about the
special guests that came to take a visit during our
sessions. We won't tell you yet who joined in, just keep on the lookout for our new
release early 2001.
L I V E:
Since the release of Miss Mary Ann's solo
CD this line-up is doing shows as well (besides the regular ones with the Ranch Girls)
with a totally
different set. Recalling CD-release party not too long ago we now are scheduled the 15th
of December in Nijmegen ("Doornroosje") and 29th of
December in Amsterdam ("Maloe Melo").
The Ranch Girls and Ragtime Wranglers will
fly to Spain week to appear at the "Barcelona Hayride" and will play more
international shows in
2001. We are working out: a USA tour (east / mid-west) the last 2 weeks of June, a
Scandinavian tour and a return to the UK. So ..... all you
people out there reading this: if you are interested to book us please give a call at

Hallo iedereen, hier is onze tweede nieuwsbrief, waarin
we je in het kort proberen te laten weten wat ons zo druk bezighoud sinds onze eerste
nieuwsbrief van Augustus.
R A D I O & T V:
29 oktober vertrokken we naar Hilversum voor KRO's
Country Time, samen met speciale gast "Tom van Vliet", een jazz/swing
accordeonist met meer
dan 50 jaar ervaring. Hij speelde onder andere voor het Amerikaanse leger in Duitsland
eind jaren 40 en deelde hier het podium met bijna
iedere act die overkwam vanuit de Verenigde Staten, waaronder zelfs Hank Williams!
De Ranch Girls & Ragtime Wranglers speelden live
voor TV-Rijnmond op de "American Election Kitchen" 8 november in de bioscoop
Calypso in
Rotterdam. We hebben wel eens op ongewone tijden gespeeld, maar nooit zo vroeg: aanvang 6
uur in de ochtend! Een gedeelte hiervan is direct
uitgezonden door de NOS.
We speelden voor NCRV's "Volgspot-live"
afgelopen zaterdag op radio 2. Miss Mary Ann zingt "There'll Be Some Changes
Made" van haar solo CD,
gevolgd door een interview en 6 nummers met Ranch Girl Mary Lou begeleid door de Ragtime
Wranglers.
S T U D I O:
Tussen de optredens door nemen we onze nieuwe CD op. We
hebben veel gein in de studio en hopen dat dit op de opnames is terug te horen. De CD
begint nu wat vorm te krijgen en we zijn erg enthousiast over de gastmuzikanten die langs
kwamen tijdens de opnamen. We vertellen nog
niet wie er mee hebben gespeeld, wacht maar op de nieuwe CD begin 2001.
O P T R E D E N S:
Sinds Miss Mary Ann's solo CD uit is treden we ook op in
deze bezetting (naast regelmatige optredens met de Ranch Girls) met een totaal ander
repertoire. De CD-presentatie ligt nog vers in ons geheugen en we staan 15 december in
Nijmegen (Doornroosje) en 29 december in Amsterdam (Maloe
Melo).
The Ranch Girls and Ragtime Wranglers vliegen volgende
week naar Spanje voor een optreden op de "Barcelona Hayride". Meer
internationale shows
staan op het programma voor 2001. Voor iedereen in Nederland die een band wil boeken: bel
