We hebben de afgelopen tijd niet stilgezeten, maar
hoe meer we spelen, hoe minder tijd we hebben om deze brief rond te sturen. Vandaar dat we
jullie maar 2 of 3 keer per jaar met deze nieuwsbrief vervelen.
Het meest spectaculaire wat we de afgelopen tijd
hebben meegemaakt, is dat we een "bijna tornado" hebben overleefd tijdens ons
optreden in Decatur in de VS begin augustus. Het publiek zat in een schuilplaats, maar de
band wist van niets. Zoals het orkest op de Titanic speelden we door in de chaos. Toen er
iets te veel tafeltjes en stoeltjes voorbij het podium kwamen vliegen en de inventaris van
een coctailtent onder het podium door stoomde hielden we het voor gezien. Een behoorlijk
linke situatie, dat wel. Vergeleken met de andere podia viel de schade bij ons nog mee:
slechts natte kleding en het ter ziele gaan van het drumstel, monitors en een
gitaarversterker.
De website was al lange tijd aan verbetering toe;
beetje bij beetje zullen we de pagina’s gaan vernieuwen. We zijn begonnen met de
inhoudspagina. We hebben voorgenomen om op deze pagina een link naar de "foto van de
maand" toe te voegen. Deze keer is het een foto van de aankondiging van ons optreden
in het Oneida Casino in Greenbay, met hieraan een filmpje gelinkt. Kijk iedere maand voor

Nog wat nieuws over optredens: Van 5 tot 7 maart 2004
is het tijd voor de achtste Rockabilly Rave in Camber, in het zuiden van Engeland. Op
veler verzoek staan hier de Ranch Girls in de originele bezetting: Caroline en Mary Ann.
Behalve de Ranch Girls zullen de Ragtime Wranglers hier ook Sun Recording Artist

voor meer informatie. De Ragtime Wranglers zullen komend jaar nog meer
buitenlandse acts begeleiden. Er staat veel op de planning. Meer hierover in onze volgende
nieuwsbrief.
Misschien komen we elkaar nog tegen op de tweede
Rockabilly Dazzle vrijdag 9 januari 2004 in Waterfront, Boompjeskade 10 te Rotterdam. Hier
spelen Pete & the Atomics uit Parijs en Mischief uit Utrecht. DJ’s zijn Sexy

We have got news for you the whole year through, but
the more we play, the less time we have to send out this newsletter. For this reason
you’ll only receive this twice or three times a year.
The most stunning experience we had recently, is our
escape from a heavy thunderstorm during our show in Decatur USA last August. All visitors
had been evacuated to shelters, but nobody warned the band. We felt like the orchestra on
the Titanic. When chairs and tables blew past the stage and when we saw water flowing
under the stage containing the inventory of a cocktail-stand, we decided to stop playing.
A pretty scary situation. When the storm was over we found out the drum kit, monitors and
guitar-amp didn't survive, but our damage wasn’t as bad as it was at the other
stages.
Our website has been in need of improvement for a long time. Bit by bit we’ll start
renewing the pages. We started with our index-page, on which we added a link to the
picture of the month. This month’s picture is the billboard of the Oneida Casino in
Greenbay, linked with a movie-clip from the same billboard at night. For a new picture

Some news about concerts: Rockabilly Rave #8 will take place 5 until 7 March
2004 in Camber UK. At special request the Ranch Girls will play in the original line-up:

Besides the Ranch Girls, at this event the Ragtime Wranglers will also back up Sun
Recording Artist “Jack Earls”. Extra work for the Ragtime Wranglers, backing up
international artists, will increase in 2004. We’re waiting on some shows to be
confirmed. More about this in our next newsletter.
If you are in the area of Rotterdam, I sure hope to meet you at the second Rockabilly Dazzle, Friday the 9th of January 2004 in a club called Waterfront at the Boompjeskade 10 here in Rotterdam.
