MISS MARY ANN & the RAGTIME WRANGLERS NIEUWSBRIEF Vol. 6 / 3

De instrumentale release van de Ragtime Wranglers "Groove a Tune" is overal met lovende kritieken ontvangen. Sommige recensies brachten ons zelfs een beetje in verlegenheid. De verkoop staat ook niet stil; de gelimiteerde uitgave op 180 grams vinyl is al bijna uitverkocht.

Organisatoren opgelet: de “Collins Kids” komen weer naar Europa. Medio september 2006 zijn de Collins Kids beschikbaar voor boekingen in Europa! Zij zullen deze tournee weer begeleid worden Ragtime Wranglers. E-mail de webmaster voor meer informatie.

Ook zal Miss Mary Ann samen met Little Rachel de achtergrond vocalen verzorgen bij Shirley Gunter op de komende Rhythm Riot het laatste weekend van november.

Op dit moment zijn we druk in de weer met het festival Going to a Go-Go, dat 18 en 19 november zal plaatsvinden in Calypso, Mauritsweg 5 in Rotterdam. Geprogrammeerd staan: Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers, the Houserockers (UK), the BossHoss (D), Shaun Horton & the Tennessee Trio (UK) en the Surfin' Gorillas (UK).
Centraal onderdeel van het festival is de Going to a GoGo Catwalk fashion award, een alternatieve modeprijs die speciaal voor dit festival wordt uitgereikt.
Verder o.a. platenstands, jive workshop, tattoo show, pin-stripe workshop, modeshow, te veel om op te noemen. Bijzonder is ook de expositie van Ken Russell van foto’s die hij maakte van Teddy Girls in Londen 1955. Meer info op: http://www.calypso-rotterdam.nl/site/g2agg.html

We received many flattering reviews for the Ragtime Wranglers’ instrumental release, some even embarrass us a little bit. Sales continue; the limited edition 180 gram vinyl album is almost sold out..

Attention promoters: the Collins Kids will be back! They are available for concerts in Europe half September 2006! The Ragtime Wranglers are looking forward to back them up at these dates. Please e-mail the webmaster for information.

Besides all this Miss Mary Ann plus Little Rachel will sing backup with Shirley Gunter at the next Rhythm Riot last weekend of November.

At this moment we’re busy working on “Going to a Go-Go”, a festival in our hometown Rotterdam. It will take place 18 and 19 November in an old cinema called Calypso. On the bill are: Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers, the Houserockers (UK), the BossHoss (D), Shaun Horton & the Tennessee Trio (UK) en the Surfin' Gorillas (UK).
Central part of the festival will be the Going to a GoGo Catwalk fashion award, an independent fashion award to be won especially at this event.
What else will be going on here: record stalls, jive workshop, tattoo show, pin-stripe workshop, fashion show, too much. Worth mentioning is the exhibition of pictures of Teddy Girls that Ken Russell took in London around 1955. More info at: http://www.calypso-rotterdam.nl/site/g2agg.html
