| THE STORY SO FAR ....... Sietse, Joe and Mary Ann have been playing music together since the mid 80s. They recorded 2 songs for the Dutch compilation album "Holland Billy" with their band "The Greyhounds". In 1991 they formed "The Ranch Girls and the Drifting Texans". Early 1993 there was a major change in the line-up and they renamed the band "The Ranch Girls & Ragtime Wranglers.

| When you ask their influence and the music they want to play,
they all will answer: early Country, Hillbilly, Western Swing, Rockabilly and everything
in between. The Ranch Girls are influenced by early duet-singing, but the Ragtime
Wranglers are crazy about instrumentals. In earlier days bands used to play more instrumental songs then bands from today. There even have been many hit-records without singing. Some favourite artists of the Ragtime Wranglers are: Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant, Merle Travis and Joe Maphis. Individual favourites are mentioned in the musicians profiles. The Ragtime Wranglers are (from left to right): Joe Sixpack (guitar, steel-guitar), Sietse (drums, cowbells, temple blocks) and Huey Moor (upright bass) and at few occasions an extra fiddler, accordion, mandolin- or guitar-picker joins the band. |

| From the early days on the band has intended to play together as much as possible, but to have had the opportunity to play solo with the Ragtime Wranglers or to let the Ranch Girls have duet appearances with other backing bands as well.

| The Ragtime Wranglers recorded their first song
without the girls for the EP in 1993: Joe Maphis "The Rocking Gypsy". This
song appeared to be a much requested song and is still in the bands repertoire. On
few of the later Ranch Girls recordings more instrumentals appeared and then, in
April 1995, a true Ragtime Wranglers solo-product was released on our own label "Home
Brew Records". The A-side is the second recording of "The Rocking Gypsy",
the other side is "Road Stop" by Jimmy Day. Soon after this release the Ragtime Wranglers caught the eye of various promoters and were lucky to have the opportunity to do a few live-concerts with American musicians: Curtis Gordon and Hardrock Gunter. These successful shows were repeated the following years and even more artists asked for the skills of the Ragtime Wranglers: Sid and Billy King, the Collins Kids, Larry Donn, Marvin Rainwater, Frankie Miller, Jack Earls and in June 2004 they went on tour with the Lucky Stars from Los Angeles. Their second single was ready just in time to promote it in Barcelona, Milano, Munich, Zurich and Berlin. These concerts give the band even more enthusiasm and they cant wait to have more shows like this. If you get a chance: dont miss them when they play near you. Their first solo Cd will get ready end of 2004. It will contain mostly instrumentals, but the Ragtime Wranglers will sing a few songs as well! TO BE CONTINUED ....... |
